LKI Internship Orientation 2026

On 15th June 2026, the interns of The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKIIRSS) attended the official internship orientation program. The session provided an introduction to the Institute, its mission, and the important role interns will play in supporting its work.

The orientation began with a presentation on the history of LKIIRSS, highlighting its establishment and its contribution to research, policy dialogue, and strategic thinking in Sri Lanka’s international relations landscape. Interns were given an overview of the Institute’s objectives and the impact its work has on informing policy discussions and promoting knowledge on global affairs.

The session also provided a detailed explanation of the role of the interns. Current interns outlined the various tasks and projects that the new interns would be involved in throughout their internship period, emphasizing professionalism, commitment, and teamwork. This gave interns valuable insight into the specific roles they had been assigned and a clearer understanding of how their contributions would support the Institute’s ongoing work.

The orientation concluded with an interactive discussion, allowing interns to ask questions and gain a clearer understanding of their roles. As the internship journey begins, the new team looks forward to working diligently, gaining hands-on experience, and contributing to the continued success of LKIIRSS.
