Madhuka joined LKI in February 2024.
She holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Colombo. Her Master’s thesis examined the geostrategic importance of enforcing the fundamental rights to the natural environment in Sri Lanka through the impact of China’s BRI project.
She obtained her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and her
bachelor’s degree dissertation discussed the Autocratic features of the presidential system in Sri Lanka’s Constitution analyzing comparative government models in the world. Prior to joining LKI, she worked as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Public Policy at University of Ruhuna, lecturing International Relations, Geopolitics, International Politics, Global Governance and Conflict and Peace Studies.
She also has completed a fellowship in Digital Security, Safe Sisters in Internews (NGO) and qualified as a Digital Security Trainer.
Her research interests include international relations, global governance, south Asian politics and international politics.
