On 12th January 2026, the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKIIRSS) welcomed Andrew Patrick, British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, and Tom Soper, First Secretary (Political). They were received by Dr. Nishara Mendis, Executive Director – LKIIRSS, and Mrs. Suganthie Kadirgamar, Life Member – LKIIRSS.
A discussion was held on potential future collaborations between the British High Commission, Sri Lanka, and LKIIRSS. Moreover, the dignitaries were given a tour of the institution, along with discussions on strengthening Sri Lanka-UK relations, research collaboration and hosting of discussions on diplomacy and international relations.
