China–Sri Lanka Readers’ Forum on Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume V)

Senior Research Fellows Ms. Piyumani Ranasinghe and Ms. Nillasi Liyanage, together with Ms. Attcheya Paranthaman, Intern, of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKIIRSS), participated in the “China–Sri Lanka Readers’ Forum on Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume V)”, held on the 3rd of July 2026 at the Hilton, Colombo.

The Forum brought together senior government officials, diplomats, academics, researchers, think tanks and policy makers from Sri Lanka and China to exchange perspectives on the newly launched book Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume V).

At the Forum, on behalf of the Executive Director of the LKIIRSS, Ms. Ranasinghe delivered remarks on “A Shared Future: China and Sri Lanka Advancing Together on the Path to Modernization”.

Prior to the Forum, Ms. Ranasinghe also participated in an exclusive networking session with distinguished guests, including the Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, the Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education of Sri Lanka, Dr. Madhura Senevirathna, Director of the Pathfinder Foundation and former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Amb. Ahmed A. Jawad, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Foundation, and Member of the Board of Management at LKIIRSS, Prof. Seetha Bandara. The Deputy Head of China’s Central Office of Cultural and Ethical Progress, Hu Kaihong, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Amb. Qi Zhenhong, Vice President of China International Communications Group (CICG), Yu Tao were also present at this event.
