LKI offers internships to undergraduates and young professionals with an interest in international relations and foreign policy-related work. Interns support the institute’s activities across communications and administrative functions, and contribute to the production of high-quality research as well as the organisation of diplomatic and academic events.
This internship provides an opportunity to:
•Gain practical experience in international affairs
•Develop professional skills in communications and administration
•Learn from experienced professionals in the diplomatic and foreign policy field
Applicants must:
•Be a current undergraduate or recent graduate in a relevant discipline, such as:
•Business Administration
•Human Resources Management
•Accounting
•Media Studies
•Communications
•Technology
•or another related field
•Have an interest in current affairs in Sri Lanka and internationally
•Be willing to work closely with research, communications, and administrative teams
Duration
•Initial internship period: 3 months
•Possibility of extension for a further 3 months, subject to a performance review
•Applicants should clearly state their availability in their motivation letter
Applicant Information
•LKI recruits interns on a rolling basis throughout the year
•Applicants are required to submit:
•A one-page motivation/cover letter outlining suitability and availability
•A CV (maximum 2 pages) including the names and contact details of two non-related referees
•Applications should clearly mention the applicant’s academic or professional discipline
