SAARC considers energy cooperation plan
The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation is planning to implement an energy cooperation strategy to facilitate cross-border energy trade among its members.
A central regulatory authority is to oversee the implementation of the regional energy cooperation agreements.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rishad Bathiudeen, recently concluded a visit to Bahrain, aimed to improve bilateral relations.

Sri Lankan swimmers win big at SAG

A draft report of a United Nations panel, convened to analyse outbreaks of disease, warns that there is a lack of preparation globally to fight deadly pandemics.
The report also criticized the current inadequacies of the World Health Organization, and called for its reform in order to effectively respond to global outbreaks.
