On 23 June 2026, a Study Tour Delegation from the Pakistan National Defence University (NDU) visited the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKIIRSS) for a roundtable discussion. The interactive session, titled “Navigating Indian Ocean Power Contestations and Redefining Pakistan-Sri Lanka Geopolitical and Economic Relations,” examined evolving strategic dynamics in the Indian Ocean region and the future of Pakistan-Sri Lanka relations.
This discussion was attended by the First Secretary of the Pakistan High Commission Mr. Bilal Khan, members of the Pakistan National Defense Defense University (NDU) Delegation, and representatives from the Sri Lanka Air Force. Representing the LKI, member of the LKI Board of Management Rear Admiral (Retd.) Y.N. Jayarathna, Senior Research Fellows Ms. Nillasi Liyanage, Ms. Piyumani Ranasinghe, Ms. Madhuka Rukmalgama and LKI interns Ms. Dulmini Hetti Arachchi, Ms. Yalindee Premaratne, Ms. Attcheya Paranthaman, Ms. Hansani Dharmasooriya and Mr. Rehan Kiriella joined the discussion.
