The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) hosted an expert roundtable consultation on 18th October 2023 with the theme “Strengthening Engagement in U.S.-Sri Lanka Relations”.

This report summarises the key takeaways from the ‘LKI Expert Roundtable Consultation’ held on 18th October 2023 featuring Mr Keerthi Martyn, a U.S Fulbright scholar who was affiliated with LKI between February 2023 and October 2023. His 9-month Fulbright research project titled “Resetting, Restraint, and Re-engagement” critically examined the avenues of cooperation in the U.S.-Sri Lanka bilateral relationship. Structured to cover political, economic and security dynamics, the expert roundtable discussion focussed on lessons from previous engagements, current postures and bottlenecks, and identified areas for further cooperation in the U.S.-Sri Lanka relationship.
