Toyesha joined LKI in December 2021.

Ms. Padukkage completed her LLB with honours from the University of London. She holds a MA in International Relations specialising in Human Rights and International Law, from Deakin University Australia. She is the recipient of Deakin university awards: Students Helping Students Award and Global Citizenship Programme Award. Her legal essay on ‘Eliminating Child Marriage: the Roots and Reforms’ won the first prize in the 10th Independent Thought South Asia Legal Essay Competition 2021.

Her recent research contributions on territorial rights, climate security and governance appear in local and international sources like E-International Relations, Springer Global Encyclopaedia of Territorial Rights and Hulftsdorp Law Journal.

Her research interests include climate governance, climate security, blue economy, and legal/regulatory framework of SEZs/ IFCs.
