LKI Research Assistant Ms. Madhuka Rukmalgama participated in the Seventh Meeting of the BIMSTEC Network of Policy Think Tanks (BNPTT), held from 30-31 May 2025 in Kathmandu, Nepal, as the official representative of Sri Lanka, under the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment & Tourism. Her participation ensured that Sri Lanka could contribute meaningfully to the region’s ongoing strategic dialogue on connectivity, innovation, and cooperation under the BIMSTEC framework.
Hosted by Tribhuvan University’s Centre for Economic Development and Administration (CEDA), the meeting focused on regional connectivity, tourism, and inclusive policy dialogue. Ms. Rukmalgama highlighted LKI’s recent regional contributions, including workshops, lectures, and policy dialogues on youth engagement, maritime security, and economic corridors. She also emphasized Sri Lanka’s leadership in Science, Technology, and Innovation within BIMSTEC and engaged actively in discussions on digital cooperation and research networks.
