LKI Webinar on: Prospects for Managing Risk in Nuclear South Asia

The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) will be hosting a webinar on ‘Prospects for Managing Risk in Nuclear South Asia’ on Monday, 14th March 2022 from 14:00 to 15:30 hrs (IST). 

The speakers at this webinar are: 

  • Amb. A.L.A. Azeez, Former Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations 
  • Dr. Manpreet Sethi, Senior Distinguished Fellow at the Centre for Airpower Studies (CAPS) 
  • Dr. Tong Zhao, Senior Fellow at the Nuclear Policy Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

Malinda Meegoda, Research Associate at LKI will be moderating this webinar.

This webinar, organised by the LKI will aim to identify how current engagement efforts can be enhanced between the nuclear weapons states (NWS) to better manage nuclear risks in the region. In addition, the webinar will explore the role non-nuclear weapons states like Sri Lanka can play in regional and global nuclear weapons non-proliferation and disarmament efforts.
