The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies offered alms to the monks of the Sri Sambodhi Viharaya in memory of late Hon. Lakshman Kadirgamar, who was assassinated on this day (12th August 2005), 15 years ago.
The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations (LKI) is named after former Foreign Minister, Lakshman Kadirgamar. The Institute is also the realisation of a goal pursued by the late Minister to fulfil the country’s need for a think tank. LKI is a reflection of Minister Kadirgamar’s vision for Sri Lanka, by promoting the country’s intellectual profile in the field of foreign policy research and engagement.
LKI Board members Mrs. Suganthie Kadirgamar, Mr. Kosala Wickramanayake, Major General Milinda Peiris, Prof. Kapila Gunawardana, and the Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Relations, Mr. Ravinatha Aryasinha participated in the almsgiving along with the LKI’s administration, the staff, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
