The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute (LKI) was honoured to have Mr. Pablo de Greiff, UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation, and guarantees of non-recurrence, deliver a lecture on “Transitional Justice” on 20 October 2017.

Mr. Pablo de Greiff elaborated on the historical development of the concept of transitional justice, its standards, and core meanings. He emphasised that truth, justice, reparations, and guarantees of non-recurrence could strengthen and foster civic trust in a post-conflict society.

The lecture was followed by a question and answer session moderated by Dr. Dinusha Panditaratne, Executive Director of LKI, and included questions from the audience. The event was held in partnership with the Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
