The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) hosted a talk by Professor Matthew McCartney, Senior Researcher at Charter Cities and Former Associate Professor at the University of Oxford, on his book titled “The Dragon from the Mountains” on 08 February 2022 at the LKI Boardroom.

The lecture focused on Chinese investments, with emphasis on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Prof. McCartney explained how he utilized historical and contemporary studies of big infrastructure and economic theories from the early years of development to evaluate the contrasting views about the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The lecture was followed by a Q & A session.
