China International Communication Group (CICG) Delegation Visits LKI

On 16 May 2025, the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) welcomed a delegation from the China International Communication Group (CICG). The delegation was led by Mr. Du Zhanyuan, President of CICG, and included representatives from the Foreign Languages Press, the Center for Cultural Exchange, and the South Asia Communication Department of China.

The delegation was received by LKI Executive Director, Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinha, at the LKI Boardroom. Following his opening remarks, the delegation engaged in an interactive discussion focused on strengthening Sino–Sri Lanka relations through people-to-people exchanges and knowledge sharing. The conversation particularly explored opportunities for research collaboration through institutional partnerships.

Additionally, Ms. Maduka Rukmalgama, Research Assistant at LKI, presented a brief overview of her ongoing research on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) 2.0 and its implications for developing countries, including Sri Lanka.

Ms. Sulochana Wijayasinghe, Research Assistant at LKI, and Mr. Adil Nazeem, Research Intern at LKI, were also present at the discussion.
