Ambassador of the Embassy of Türkiye in Sri Lanka meets with the Executive Director of the LKI

The Executive Director of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI), Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinha welcomed Mr. Semih Lutfu Turgut, the new Ambassador of Türkiye in Colombo on Wednesday,14 August 2024, to the Institute.

During the meeting, both parties discussed potential collaborative opportunities, focusing on producing research publications and organising events that could highlight the growing influence of Türkiye as a middle power. This visit also signifies the strengthening ties between Sri Lanka and Türkiye, emphasising the importance of mutual cooperation in bilateral relations.

Ms. Merve Gözde Otlu,First Secretary to the Embassy of Türkiye in Colombo, Ms. Kanchana Rajapaksha, Secretary to the Ambassador of Türkiye in Colombo and Mr. Nilupul Gunawardena, Senior Research Fellow (Global Governance) also joined the discussion.
