Amb. Aryasinha Says Resisting the ‘zero-sum’ Push From Major Powers the ‘crucial Test’ for Foreign Policy

The Executive Director of LKI, Amb. Ravinatha Aryasinha participating in a round-table discussion titled “Improving Sri Lanka’s Economic Security Through Its Strategic Location in the Indian Ocean” hosted by the Institute of National Security Studies (INSS) at the Ministry of Defense on 05 December 2024, has emphasized the importance of Sri Lanka balancing its relationships with major powers.

Observing that countries/blocs have brought pressure on Sri Lanka to effectively engage in a ‘zero-sum game’, he observed that how Sri Lanka can resist and overcome this push will be the ‘crucial test’ for its foreign policy in the foreseeable future.

LKI හි විධායක අධ්‍යක්ෂ, තානාපති රවිනාථ ආර්යසිංහ මහතා 2024 දෙසැම්බර් 05 වැනි දින INSS වට මේස සාකච්ඡාවකට සහභාගි වෙමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාව ප්‍රධාන බලවතුන් සමඟ සබඳතා සමතුලිත කිරීමේ වැදගත්කම අවධාරණය කර ඇත. ‘ශුන්‍ය-එකතුවක’ ඵලදායි ලෙස නිරත වන ලෙස රටවල්/කණ්ඩායම් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට බලපෑම් එල්ල කර ඇති බව නිරීක්ෂණය කළ ඔහු, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට මෙම තෙරපුම ප්‍රතිරෝධනය කිරීම සහ ජය ගන්නේ කෙසේද යන්න ඉදිරි අනාගතයේදී එහි විදේශ ප්‍රතිපත්තියේ ‘තීරණාත්මක පරීක්ෂණය’ වනු ඇති බව පැවසීය.
