Amar​ ​Breckenridge​ ​to speak on “The​ ​Progress​ ​of​ ​Brexit: ​Implications​ ​for​ ​Sri​ ​Lanka​ ​and​ ​the​ ​Region” at LKI

The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) will host a ​Foreign​ ​Policy​ ​Round​ ​Table​ ​with​ ​Amar Breckenridge, Senior Economist at Frontier Economics (Europe) on “The​ ​Progress​ ​of​ ​Brexit:​ ​Implications​ ​for​ ​Sri​ ​Lanka​ ​and​ ​the​ Region.”

This round table will be held on Wednesday, 3 January 2018 from 4:30PM to 6:00 PM at LKI. It will feature a presentation by Mr. Breckenridge on the Brexit negotiation process and the likely economic consequences for Sri Lanka and the region. This will be followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Amar Breckenridge is a Senior Economist at Frontier Economics (Europe), specialising in international trade policy and public policy practice. His work spans trade policy analysis and modelling, support to dispute settlement and litigation, as well as trade negotiations. He has worked on these issues across Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Prior to joining Frontier Economics, Mr. Breckenridge was an economist for several years at the World Trade Organization.

Mr. Breckenridge also has extensive experience in the design and evaluation of policy on the environment and natural resources, including energy and climate change mitigation and adaptation. He has been the lead author of a number of reports in these areas. He has also provided expert testimony to parliamentary committees of inquiry and advised the United Nations Environment Programme on aspects of its work in Africa. Mr. Breckenridge holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and a Master of Science in Economics, both from the University of Oxford.
