Dr. Patrick McNamara, Executive Director of the US-SL Fulbright Commission met with Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinha, Executive Director of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) on 16 October 2024 at LKI.
The discussion focused on how the US Fulbright Commission in Sri Lanka plays a pivotal role in fostering educational and cultural exchange between the United States and Sri Lanka and how the Commission helps bridge knowledge gaps, particularly through the transfer of expertise among mid-level professionals in both countries by facilitating academic programs and research opportunities. The discussion highlighted the importance of the transfer of knowledge at this level contributing to strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing professional competencies, and supporting broader development goals in areas such as education, governance, and economic growth.
