Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinha, Executive Director of the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) received Ms. Séverine Chappaz, Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on 10 October 2024 at LKI.
The discussion focused on the ICRC’s role in Sri Lanka and the 75 th Commemoration of the Geneva Convention. As part of this, in December 2024 LKI plans to collaborate with ICRC on a Joint Seminar focusing on the new trends of artificial Intelligence, autonomous
weapons systems and contemporary challenges, drawing on ICRC and Sri Lankan experts.
Ms. Prabodhini Munasinghe, Legal Adviser of ICRC, Ms. Sulochana Wijayasinghe, Research Assistant of LKI and Mr. Pankaja Weerasekara, Research Intern of LKI also participated in the discussion.
