LKI Hosts the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA)

On Thursday 22nd February, LKI received a delegation from the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) of Kazakhstan.

HE Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the CICA Secretariat, was welcomed by Amb. Ravinatha Aryasinha, Executive Director of LKI.

As the founder and current Chair of CICA, Kazakhstan has placed great importance on economic security and development, climate change and people-to-people connections. The CICA delegation and LKI’s research team discussed the current relationship between Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan and CICA’s role in enhancing cooperation in Asia. LKI’s Research Fellows, Michael Iveson and Nilupul Gunawardena, also participated in the meeting.
