On the 30th November, LKI welcomed the Director of the Institute of South Asian Studies at the National University of Singapore (ISAS-NUS), Dr Iqbal Singh Sevea. Amb. Ravinatha Aryasinha, Executive Director of LKI, led the discussion on Sri Lanka’s current foreign policy postures, introduced Dr Sevea to LKI’s current research priorities, and discussed LKI’s recent flagship events.
Dr Sevea then introduced the team to ISAS-NUS and explained the current research priorities, including their recent introduction of ‘Sustainability and the Environment’ to their research programme. Dr Sevea also emphasised the importance of building relationships with local think tanks in South Asia, which was warmly received by Amb. Aryasinha. LKI and ISAS-NUS hope to explore future research collaborations.
Mr Michael Iveson, Research Fellow (Global Economy), Mr Nilupul Gunawardena, Research Fellow (Global Governance), and Mr Chathuka Senanayake, Director of Administration, were also present in the meeting.
