A delegation led by Dr. Dai Yonhong from the School of Foreign Languages of Shenzhen University, China, recently visited the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies to discuss areas of future cooperation.
Dr. Dai is the Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and is in Sri Lanka to attend a symposium on coral reef ecology. The School of Languages has had a strong connection with Sri Lanka visiting the island before in 2016, 2017, and 2020. The current visit to Sri Lanka included meeting with officials at the Port City project.
Shenzhen University is a relatively new university but is now ranked 30th out the over 2,000 Chinese Universities. The University has built ties with several foreign Universities, including Leeds University and Nottingham University in the United Kingdom.
Participating at the meeting were Mrs. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Executive Director (Act.), Mr. Chathuka Senanayake, Director (Administration and Finance), Mr. Nilupul Gunawardena, Research Fellow (Global Governance) Mr. Michael Iverson Research Fellow (Global economy) Mr. Dilip S.Samarasinghe Communications Manager and Mr. Amal Senalankadhikara, Director Lanka Grand Paradise Tours who assisted the Shenzhen University Delegation.
