The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka celebrated its 77th National Independence Day on 4 February 2025. The main ceremony was held at the Independence Memorial Square under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, during which the President stressed that rather than merely reflecting on the past, this year we celebrate the National Independence Day looking forward to the future.
